With the sponsorship assistance of PC550 Holdings and David Bogan, 13 year old, Andrew Murray spent Thursday 15th July in Bill McAnally's shop fitting an extra small seat into one of Bill McAnally's Late Models. This was an all day job as brackets had to be manufactured and several attempts had to be made to get the seat high enough and in the correct position to allow the window-net to close.
Friday 16th in Sacramento brought 104 degree temperatures when Bill's team loaded the race car and headed off to All American Speedway for Andrew's first test session scheduled to begin at 3:30pm. After just 3 sessions, Andrew was starting to feel comfortable and was running lap times in the high 14's. Turn 2 was particularly loose as there were few cars, the track was dusty and the track temp was over 140. There were two other Late Models out this day, and by the end of the day Andrew was able to run lap times equal to one car and just 2/10's off the other.
